Cancer Rocks!

Healing With Wit And Wisdom

I'm feeling so proud of both of you for harnessing the power of Ning and TalkShoe- for good - in such a short time.

If I had just one medical society that had the combined chutzpah-

(Chutzpah can be used to express admiration for non-conformist but gutsy audacity. One common English adaptation of "chutzpah" is "hoodspa", which has a mostly positive connotation. Leo Rosten in The Joys of Yiddish defines chutzpah as "gall, brazen nerve, effrontery, incredible 'guts,' presumption plus arrogance such as no other word and no other language can do justice to." In this sense, chutzpah expresses both strong disapproval and a grudging admiration. One example given of the ultimate of chutzpah is: "A boy, having just been convicted of murdering his parents, begs the judge for leniency because he is an orphan."[1])

-of you two dynamos, we'd be having soooo much more fun-- and be getting so much MORE DONE. Roz, I think with you at the interviewing helm and Bernie with hands on control central, I predict a glowing future for the 'Cancer Rocks! Internet Radio Show'.

Again, there are numerous Talkshoe Producers to learn from- I like the guy who does 'Tail of The Whale'-

description: Talk about the Ning platform. Like a whale, at first sighting, you only see a tiny part of Ning. Listen and join to learn more.-

myself, because not only is he a very experienced radio host, but you also get to learn more about all things 'Deep Ning'. Keep it up! I predict GREAT things IF you find a way to consistanly compile 100-150 of these 1/2 hour interviews. "There are no shortcuts to any place worth going." - Beverly Sills.

So those of you out there, who may just be finding Cancer Rocks!- answer me this?

What's the ingredient(s) in every effort that elicits the response, "Nice Work?"

I say one necessary ingredient is "chutzpah." What would you add?

Rock on!

bestx3,

WOW! Who would have thought so much could happen in such a short time? Brad you are most encouraging and quite a good guide. Thank you for actually beginning the Forum. Now I can go forward and invite those who are really interested in and have the "Chutzpah" to join a group of rebels against caving in to the power that cancer can have.

By the way I love the word "Chutzpah." I was born with the "Chutzpah" gene. One of the reasons I have succeeded in surviving is the amount of "Chutzpah" I have used to engage in unconventional treatment modalities as well as challenge my health care team and still have a meaningful relationship with them. At the same time, I am very aware of the "law of impermanence" (everything passes; nothing is permanent). The advice is not to become too attached to an expected outcome. It is most beneficial in terms of being able to move with the ebb and flow of life or as I like to refer to the ability to Improvise. Think on our feet, accept what comes, and discover a new way to live or solve a problem.

What elicits "nice work" is deep passion, determination, and a belief in oneself to choose to pay attention to what matters in the moment. Visualizing what we want to happen and taking action to make those goals become real demonstrates the power of the mind and results in "Nice Work."

If there are those of you who have opened your hearts to spread joy, kindness, and appreciate the gifts you bring to the world, let us know so we can continue to make the world a better place and give hope to those who face adversity. RT
